Your loved one’s independence is important to all of us. Broadmead Care is delighted to offer a wide range of Adult Day Programs that give access for seniors living in their own homes to health, social, respite, and recreational services. For our WWII and post-war veterans, the Veteran’s Health Centre provides a wide range of services to promote health and independence in a warm, social atmosphere.
PLEASE NOTE: Because of current Provincial Health Orders and guidelines relating to COVID-19, our Adult Day Programs at Beckley Farm Lodge and Rest Haven Lodge are open at reduced capacity.
Programs at the Veterans Health Centre and Veterans Memorial Lodge are operating with reduced capacity and appropriate COVID-19 protocols. Please contact them directly for more information (250.658.3270 for Veterans Health Centre or 250.658.3289 for Veterans Memorial Lodge).
Why Adult Day Programs?
We have seen firsthand the difference adult day programs make in the lives of seniors who live in their own homes. Adult day programs can help combat isolation and loneliness that people sometimes face by providing a social network, and access to information and education sessions, nutrition and foot care, discussion groups, and games or activities designed to engage both body and mind. We create an environment in which all can experience the joy of living, with wellbeing and happiness.
How Adult Day Programs Help You
Adult Day Programs promote health and independence for your loved one, offering a welcoming, social atmosphere. The benefits are two-fold. They offer an opportunity for the elderly living in the community, who are no longer able to attend formalized recreation or social programs, to attend a program that provides them with a safe and inclusive environment, creating an opportunity for clients to engage with others. And they provide much-needed support and respite for those who are caring for loved ones at home. This allows our clients to live at home as long as possible.
What Folks are Saying
Alex lived at Broadmead Care and he passed away September 18, 2021, following a battle with Parkinson’s Disease. During his stay the care he received from the nursing and care staff was exemplary. They were always so caring and treated Alex with respect. Staff were always there for our family as well, and for that we are grateful. Thank you for everything and we were so fortunate that Alex was able to spend his final days in your amazing Care Home. January 9, 2022
Thank you to all of you amazing people that keep my mother safe and comfortable. I cannot say enough positive things about the staff and upkeep of Rest Haven Lodge. YOU ALL ROCK! – Deborah W. January 9, 2022
“Just wanted to say a big thank you for your excellent care of our precious residents, and the excellent communication regarding the current situation. It is so reassuring to know that my dear friend is in such capable, caring hands!”
“It is not how much you do, but how much love you put in the doing. We saw this in action … and we are all thankful that [Mom’s] final years were pleasant ones with you.”
On behalf of my father, I want to extend my heart-felt thanks to each and every one of you for your kindness, caring and professionalism over the course of my father’s move into [Beckley Farm Lodge]. From the very first day, my mother and I were so touched at the genuine compassion you all showed and impressed with your competence. We were so worried about this transition, and thanks in large part to each of you it went better than I could have possibly hoped.
“Being a volunteer at Veterans Memorial Lodge has been the most rewarding and satisfying venture I have ever undertaken. It taught me a lot about myself and I am very grateful to you for allowing me to be part of this great establishment.”
“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone at the Veterans Health Centre for the excellent care that you gave [my husband] and for the support you gave to me. It was a great asset for him to attend the weekly day program and respite.”
“Staff ensure the Adult Day Program participants are safe and engaged. I feel good because quality of life is so important, and the Adult Day Program helps us make the most out of what is possible for my mom.”
