Who we are
Broadmead Care is a vibrant non-profit healthcare provider (long term care) with a reputation for high quality, innovation, and leading practices in long term care. We are committed to providing compassionate person-centered care: care that opens the door for extraordinary relationships to flourish and helps people experience a sense of belonging, respect, and acceptance. We have developed an overarching philosophy – which we call The Broadmead Way – to help people live their lives as completely as possible while supported by excellent clinical care.
Our Directors are:
- people who are eager to step into leadership positions and who bring governance, financial, investment, project, or long term medical care experience; and,
- people who help us better reflect the diversity of communities and experiences present in Victoria.
How we operate
Broadmead Care is funded by Island Health, Veterans Affairs Canada, BC Housing, as well as philanthropic donations. With an annual operating budget of $50 million, we operate seven long term care Homes in Victoria and Nanaimo. Our services include adult day programs for veterans and seniors, specialized care for adults with disabilities, and community outreach through the Long Term Care at Home program. Additionally, Broadmead Care operates Nigel Living, an independent and affordable living community for seniors.
