We are delighted to let you know that Island Health has confirmed the dates when they will be on site in Broadmead Care Homes to administer the first of two doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to those residents who have consented to receive it. We are pleased that more than 98% of our residents are planning to get the vaccine. Below are the dates for each Care Home.
Vaccine schedule for residents
- Beckley Farm Lodge – Tuesday, January 19, 1:30 – 4:30pm
- Nigel House – Friday, January 22, 2:00 – 4:30pm
- Rest Haven Lodge – Monday, January 25, 9:00am – 1:00pm
- Veterans Memorial Lodge – Tuesday, January 19, 9:00am – 5:00pm
The Moderna vaccine will be administered as it is easier to transport to long term care homes. At this time, we don’t know the date the second dose will be administered, but we anticipate it will be within a month. Island Health has created a COVID-19 Vaccination Question and Answer document for your information. We will keep you posted as we know more.
