Broadmead Care is pleased to announce that Janet Power has joined the team at Veterans Memorial Lodge as Care Home Director.
Janet brings 33 years of experience working in healthcare, and has held senior leadership roles in long term care homes since 2015. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Recreation Management from Acadia University, as well as a post baccalaureate in Gerontology from Simon Fraser University, and diplomas in Health Care Management and Advanced Health Care Leadership from BCIT.
A ‘proud Newfoundlander’, Janet is passionate about providing the best in care for seniors. She believes in person-centred care, and in building communities of care that are comfortable, safe, and homelike.
Janet also believes in living an active life, and can be found puttering in her garden, walking and hiking, camping, stand-up paddle boarding, cold water swimming (!), or riding her motorbike. She brings this enthusiasm for life to Veterans Memorial Lodge, and encourages everyone around her to participate in living as fully as possible.
Janet has been getting to know family members, residents, and staff, and looks forward to meeting more of you, as together we continue to create communities where love, life, and living matter!
