We have a winner!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our lottery this past month. A total of $14,010 was raised, thanks to so many caring people in our community!

Congratulations to our Worth a Shot 50/50 jackpot winner:  Matt Watterman, Ticket Number 143395

Our lucky winner, Matt (picture), is a retired member of the Victoria Police Department and Past President of The Navy League of Canada. Matt is familiar with Broadmead Care through his work with the Navy – plus his love for the game of golf.

Matt has been golfing in Broadmead Care’s Annual Charity Golf Tournament for a number of years and is looking forward to celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Broadmead Care’s Charity Golf Tournament with Team Navy on June 1, 2023, at Royal Colwood Golf Club.

How will he spend his winnings? Matt is in the process of starting up his very own podcast focusing on the golf community in Victoria BC … the jackpot prize will help him kick-start this passion project into gear in no time. Matt hopes to feature Broadmead Care and its Charity Golf Tournament on his podcast in the near future.

We are so grateful to share the winnings of this lottery with Matt, and could not be more grateful for everyone who participated.

Because of you, $7,005 will help Broadmead Care purchase new slings for our care homes. Slings are used for the safety, comfort, and security of all. If you can imagine … we use slings when changing bed linen, rolling a person to carry out hygiene tasks, or repositioning a person in bed. With constant use like this, slings often break down, are no longer safe to use, and must be replaced.

Thank you so much everyone … stay tuned for our next 50/50 lottery, PLUS the prize draw for a stunning diamond necklace, coming up later this month as part of Broadmead Care’s 20th Annual Charity Golf Tournament fundraising efforts for Veterans Memorial Lodge.
