I am writing to make you aware that Veterans Memorial Lodge is currently under enhanced surveillance measures after one of our team members tested positive for COVID-19. You are receiving this email because your loved one lives in the affected lodge, A1. We are working closely with Island Health’s Medical Health Officer and Public Health team, and will keep you informed on a regular basis.
What you need to know
Earlier today we were advised that one team member working on A1 Lodge (Olympic View) tested positive for COVID-19. This person last worked on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, and is now self-isolating at home. Island Health’s Public Health team is completing contact tracing to determine anyone who may have been at risk of exposure.
Veterans Memorial Lodge has not been declared on outbreak at this time. This means that the risk for exposure to residents, team members, and visitors is low.
However, VML is under enhanced surveillance. This means:
- All Broadmead Care team members continue to wear masks, in accordance with Ministry of Health Policy;
- No residents are currently showing symptoms;
- Your loved ones are screened for COVID-19 symptoms twice a day; and,
- Enhanced cleaning protocols are in place.
You are welcome to visit VML as usual, following all COVID-19 protocols currently in place. Residents remain welcome to go on outings.
We will keep you informed on a regular basis, and as we have information to share. Thank you for all you do to help us keep everyone as safe as possible.
