Lois is back! On February 14, she brought 225 Valentine’s Day Cards and heart-shaped home-baked cookies to Veterans Memorial Lodge – made by herself with love!
Lois is a student at St. Margaret’s School in Saanich. She organized students in grades 4 through 8 to create Valentine’s Day cards for the people who live at Veterans Memorial Lodge – and then baked 225 heart-shaped cookies to go with them. Lois delivered handmade cards from St. Margaret’s School last year, too, for the people who live at Veterans Memorial Lodge.
“It’s been harder on seniors … we have to keep them in our hearts even if life goes back to normal,” she said. “I also thought that St. Margaret’s ‘Service With Love’ and Broadmead Care’s “Where Love, Life and Living Matter’ have the same kind of message. Students were really excited to connect with the people who live at Veterans Memorial Lodge. We hope receiving a Valentine’s Day Card makes them happy too.”
The Valentines and cookies were received by resident Pauline on behalf of all who live at VML. Her smile says it all!
Thank you, Lois – we think you’re amazing!!
