Broadmead Care is continuing the Thankuary celebrations, and it all starts with you! Let’s take a look back on all the moments you made possible.
Each year we put our heads together to find an inspiring word that helps guide us in the work we do. 2022’s word of the year was Champion! A Gladiator, fighting for the win! Just like our residents and staff who stand strong against unforeseen challenges. And just like you – a Defender! – because you help ensure important programs, equipment needs, and staff resources are maintained. It’s a perfect word to describe those who live and work at Broadmead Care. And it perfectly describes you – our Champion of Care for Canada’s veterans, seniors, and adults with disabilities
Thank you from Sue Iles, Broadmead Care’s Board Chair
I am so grateful for the wonderful people who have supported Broadmead Care this year. We simply couldn’t do it without you!
Whether you participated in, sponsored, or volunteered for one of our events (like the Shred-A-Thon, the Annual Charity Golf Tournament, or Kms4Care) or donated to one of our campaigns, gave In Honour or In Memory, or contributed to capital campaigns like the New Home for Nigel House, we can’t say Thank You enough to express our deep appreciation.
Your generosity as a community of support helps fund many of the important programs and services we offer, and equipment we use. We look to the community to help bring wellbeing and happiness to all, and are grateful for your contributions. Your donations have a positive and long lasting impact on the people who live and work in Broadmead Care Homes.
Thank you for helping us ensure we can continue to offer the best possible, most compassionate, and loving care for the veterans, seniors, and adults with disabilities who call Broadmead Care home.
I am, and we all are, deeply thankful for you.
In 2022, Broadmead Care was awarded Accreditation with Exemplary Standing — the highest award possible. When you see the Accreditation Canada seal, you can be certain that the healthcare organization is working hard to meet our standards to deliver safe, high-quality care. They do so because better quality means better health.

It takes hands to build a house, but only hearts can build a home.
The New Home for Nigel House project was declared ‘official’ in July. The people who live at
Nigel House enthusiastically cut the ribbon for the new Home. To all the supporters and contributors, on behalf of all the residents and staff here at Nigel House, for the incredible support we’ve received – thank you very much! Nearly $3 million has been raised for the first phase of the project; now fundraising efforts continue for furnishings and fixtures inside the Home. Learn more.
You made us smile this year! $150,000 raised for the Serving Smiles Campaign.
Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.
We are so fortunate to live in such a caring community. Thank you to the numerous organizations who support Broadmead Care year after year through donations, sponsorships, and project partnerships. We simply could not do it without you!
