National Health Care Aide Day

Today we take a moment to recognize and celebrate the wonderful people who are Broadmead Care’s Health Care Workers. These are the amazing staff who take care of residents every day, and through their compassion and dedication, bring wellbeing and happiness to the veterans, seniors, and adults with disabilities who live in Broadmead Care Homes.

Health Care Aide (Assistant) Day was declared in the legislatures of British Columbia and Manitoba on October 18, 2012, recognizing the work of the people who provide frontline care for Canada’s most vulnerable citizens.

The BC Proclamation notes that “Health Care assistants have demonstrated to be an indispensable component in the safety and quality of personal care for patients, clients, and residents.” Simply put: we couldn’t do it without you!

With ever-increasing demands being placed on our healthcare system and long term care homes, Health Care Assistants deserve recognition for the many ways they improve people’s lives. We want to say, “Thank you for the work you do every day to make a difference for the people who live in our Care Homes. Today, we celebrate you – you are amazing!”
