It takes a community to build a Home

Diane, Nigel House resident (R), presents Darcy, from Henry Drilling (L), with a limited edition print of her painting.

We’d like to extend our thanks to Henry Drilling for their support for the New Home for Nigel House. They are the most recent contributors to the fundraising campaign, and we are so grateful for their support, coming alongside many other businesses and community members. It truly is going to take the whole community to bring the vision of a new Nigel House to reality.

We invite you to watch the progress! When you drive north on Vernon Avenue past the Nigel Valley, to the east across from Save-On Foods, you will see the construction site. Henry Drilling just completed their work of placing caissons and sheet piling around the site. Next comes the important work of excavation.

It is never too late to get involved. Your donation will help us raise funds for the furniture, fixtures, and equipment needed for the New Home for Nigel House.

Nigel House is home to adults aged 19 and up who require long term care services. Nigel House offers 24-hour personal care through an interdisciplinary team providing nursing, therapy, social work, recreational activities, and dietician services. Many of the people who live at Nigel House use mobility aids such as walkers or wheelchairs. Each person has a unique combination of complex health conditions, and lives with significant challenges resulting from trauma, birth anomalies, or neurological degenerative diseases. Staff and volunteers share a common purpose – to help everyone experience wellbeing and happiness – with a commitment to provide compassionate care that opens the door for extraordinary relationships to flourish.

Nigel House is a community in which all experience a sense of belonging, respect, and acceptance, and are provided with opportunities to live life as fully as possible.
