We know you are all well aware of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak that has been occurring in different parts of the world over the past few months. As it stands right now, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Vancouver Island. Broadmead Care is carefully monitoring this situation and has plans in place at all of our Care Homes to respond as needed.
Broadmead Care follows strong infection control practices for prevention and monitoring at all of our care homes. As an organization, part of The Broadmead Way is providing safe and healthy living environments. To achieve this, we must work together and we ask for your help with the following:
- If you have a cough, fever, difficulty breathing, or are experiencing any other symptoms of illness, we ask that you do not enter our Care Homes until you are well.
- If you are visiting, please wash your hands often. There are also hand sanitizers at each Care Home entrance; please use these when you come in and before you leave.
We will keep you updated as we continue to monitor information from Island Health. More information is available on the BC Centre for Disease Control website at www.bccdc.ca. Thank you for helping us protect the safety and wellbeing of our residents, day program clients, and staff who care for them.
