Commissionaires Victoria, the Islands and Yukon celebrate 100 years of service to Canada!

This month, Commissionaires Victoria, the Islands and Yukon (CVIY) proudly joins divisions across the country in celebrating the 100th anniversary of Commissionaires Canada. As an integrated security solutions provider serving an array of clients across public, private, and post-secondary sectors, CVIY is proud to mark a century of service built on dedication, trust, and innovation.

Founded in 1925 to provide meaningful employment for returning First World War veterans, Commissionaires has evolved into Canada’s largest employer of veterans and one of the country’s most trusted names in security. Locally, CVIY upholds that legacy while offering background checks including fingerprinting. CVIY embraces innovation in leading-edge technology and comprehensive security services, from video surveillance technologies to cyber security solutions. CVIY takes a community focus through its ‘safe streets’ mobile patrol and guarding programs.

As part of the national centennial celebrations, CVIY recently hosted a client appreciation event at CFB Esquimalt, one of several events planned throughout the year to honour employees, clients, and community partners who have helped shape the organization’s legacy.

“Our division proudly reflects the national commitment to veterans while serving the security needs of Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands, and the Yukon,” said Mark Breslauer, CEO of Commissionaires Victoria, the Islands and Yukon. “We are a uniquely Canadian institution with a social mandate of providing meaningful employment to Veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces, RCMP and their families. In addition, we employ many other highly qualified individuals who share a passion and skill for protecting individuals, businesses and other precious assets. In this centennial year, we invite all residents of Vancouver Island to join us in honouring those who dedicate themselves to the safety and security of our nation.”
