Celebrating Broadmead Care’s long term staff

On February 21, 2024, Broadmead Care celebrated staff who have been employed with us for five to forty-five years.

CEO Derrick Bernardo thanked those who have dedicated their time and energy to serving the people who live in our Homes, saying, “Broadmead Care has a strong reputation as leaders in long term care. We were awarded Accreditation with Excellence — even during the pandemic! — and everyone plays a role in providing outstanding care, from administrative staff to activity and healthcare workers, from laundry to facilities maintenance staff.

“What I’m most impressed with, though, is how I saw you care for each other during the pandemic. You are as respectful with each other as you are with residents, clients, and family. You show love and acceptance, and I am so proud to be part of an organization whose employees value each other.”

Long service awards from five years right through forty-five years were distributed for Beckley Farm Lodge, Nigel House, Rest Haven Lodge, and Veterans Memorial Lodge, by Denise May, Vice President of Human Resources. Jan (pictured above, centre, with CEO Derrick Bernardo and Veterans Memorial Lodge Executive Director Janet Power), received the longest service award: 45 years!

We are grateful for the dedication and compassion of the people who work in our Homes. They are the heart of the care we are privileged to provide, and we are thankful for their presence in our Homes every single day.
