Burdge, Thomas (Tom)
Norman Flight Lieutenant (ret’d) RAFVR
December 25, 1922 – March 1, 2024
After living a full and fascinating life for 101 years, Tom has slipped the surly bonds of Earth and once more danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings. Born in Berry Creek, Alberta, his family moved to Yatton, England in time for his 2nd birthday and Tom returned to Canada in 1958. He is loved and missed by his beloved wife Kathy, children Pam (Ron), Gordon (Marg – deceased), Mike (Sejla), Juan (Tina), Sonia (Walter) and Peter, 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, many other relatives and countless friends around the world. He had a knack for making friends wherever he went. Tom served in the RAF as a Mosquito pilot during WW2. There are so many wonderful stories and memories from his life, and the family is really looking forward to sharing them at his Celebration of Life service, which will be held tentatively in July 2024, venue TBD. We would like to thank all of the medical professionals who helped to care for Tom, particularly over the last few years. We are especially grateful for the outstanding, thoughtful and compassionate staff at the Broadmead Veterans Memorial Lodge.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in celebration of Tom’s life towards the Veterans Memorial Lodge Garden and Courtyard Renovation Project.
