One of summer’s great culinary joys is crisp, delicious corn on the cob. Thanks to Michells Farm, the people who live at Rest Haven Lodge in Sidney, BC, are enjoying the fresh taste of summer right in their own home.
Residents worked with Kitchen and Activity team members to shuck corn. What a great reminder of summer days sitting outside and tearing the husks off a cob of corn. There’s nothing quite like the squeaky sound it made!
Later on, everyone enjoyed fresh corn on the cob for lunch — and there are plans to make this a regular happening, as long as the corn keeps on coming!
