Thank you to everyone who participated in our annual Philanthropy Survey in June. The results are in, and we hear you, loud and clear!
We sent 704 surveys to family members and friends, donors to Broadmead Care, and people who signed up to receive legacy giving information. People could respond on line, or by returning the survey form.
Here are some of the highlights:
- You left us some amazing comments about how Broadmead Care staff care for your loved ones, and also suggestions for improvement. We appreciate your feedback.
- We want you to know that we deeply value every donation. Together, we can do so much to support love, life, and living for the people who live in Broadmead Care Homes.
- 86% of respondents indicated they have a Will or other estate plan.
- 37% of respondents said they have already made, or plan to make, a charitable gift in their will.
- 27% said they’d consider leaving a gift to Broadmead Care in their Will, and 5% indicated they have already left us a legacy gift. Thank you!
How much of an impact do you feel your gift has made?
We received some comments that surprised us, in response to this question. Some of you said:
- A slight boost to fundraising.
- Canโt donate much.
- Minimal, probably, in the scheme of all your expenses.
- I am not rich so it probably does not make a big difference.
We want you to know that every single donation has a huge positive impact for the people who live and work in Broadmead Care Homes. The money we raise โ what you generously contribute โ goes to pay for things that are not funded as part of our overall expenses. We raise funds to provide people with your top two priorities โ equipment and programs โ because the need greatly outweighs the funding we receive.
When you donate, you contribute to something much bigger than any one person could accomplish on their own. Each gift is precious. It might feel like โa drop in the oceanโ, but every gift makes a difference to the people who visit, live in, or work in Broadmead Care Homes. Every donation builds a community of care: one that enriches the lives of the most vulnerable among us.
We deeply value each person who donates, and every dollar we receive. Our pledge to you is to use your contributions wisely to enrich peopleโs lives, to help them feel like they matter, and to bring love, life, and living to all.
โIโm not wealthy โฆ so I canโt leave a legacy gift.โ
Sometimes people think legacy gifts, or a bequest in a Will, are only made by people with a lot of assets. The truth is, you donโt have to be โwealthyโ to leave a legacy gift.
Leaving one share, or 1% of your estate, to Broadmead Care will make a very real difference in the future. Just as every donation is more powerful when joined with others, when many people leaving legacy gifts, we can build future resilience. We canโt predict what will happen, but we know that building our resources today will have an amazing, positive impact for generations to come.
Thank you to everyone who participated. Your responses help us fund the best possible programs and services for the people who live and work in our Homes.
