2018-04A Health Care Worker Auxiliary/On-Call

DUTIES:

Under supervision, to carry out duties related to the day-to-day care residents. Duties include: carrying out routine tasks related to the personal care of residents, such as bathing, dressing, feeding, bed-making; carrying out basic charting and maintaining other record keeping systems; participating in the development and maintenance of care plans; assisting residents in activities of daily living; participating in activities and programs to enhance the social, recreational, mental and physical functioning of residents; performing other related duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be registered with the BC Care Aide & Community, Health Worker Registry
  • The Health Care Aide or community support worker certificate from a reputable Collage or Agency
  • Valid Food Safe Certificate
  • Must be eligible to work with vulnerable adults, under the BC Criminal Record Review program
  • TB Screen dated within the last 12 months

Skills

Good judgment; reliability and consistent ability to attend work; some record keeping ability, good observational skills; physical ability to perform the duties; ability to establish good relationships with residents, staff and the general public; ability to participate in a team approach to health care.
