About Affordable Housing
Ten unfurnished studio or one-bedroom suites.
Available to people who have a low income, as defined by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).
Includes a full kitchen.
Tenants in these suites will be responsible for their own meals, housekeeping, and laundry.
A damage deposit will be required
Studio — $450 One bedroom — $500
Pets will be approved in accordance with Nigel Living’s pet policy. The number of pets permitted in the building is limited. A pet damage of $500 will be required.
Nigel Living’s buildings are smoke free. Smoking is permitted in outside designated areas only.
You must be 55 years of age or older, or a veteran. Veterans must provide their K number, which can be found on their Veterans Service Card, provided by Veterans Affairs Canada.
You must be independent, defined as: managing your own personal care and mobility; directing your own affairs; and, making informed decisions about life choices. In the event of an emergency, you must be able to exit the building on your own.
You must be at or below the maximum income threshold (see Rate Sheet under Application Documentation).
Nigel Living suites are suitable for one or two people only, who meet the age or veteran criteria.
Check to make sure you are eligible to apply (see above).
Gather copies of supporting documents such as: Canada Revenue Agency Notice of Assessment, and the previous three months of bank statements.
Complete, sign, and date all sections of the application form. You can do this by downloading the PDF documentation under ‘Application Documents’; emailing nigelliving@broadmeadcare.com to request a hard-copy application form; or pick up an application package from main reception at Veterans Memorial Lodge, 4579 Chatterton Way, Victoria BC V8X 4Y7.

It is near the Pat Bay Highway and Royal Oak Drive.
Wait for a response. Please note: an interview will be required to confirm applicant eligibility prior to final acceptance.
If accepted, tenants will be asked to sign a tenancy agreement.
Your damage deposit, pet deposit (if applicable), and first month’s rent will be payable one month before move in.
