Helping it feel like home at Veterans Memorial Lodge

After the shotgun is fired, after the longest drive, after all the laughter and merriment of our 2021 in-person Annual Charity Golf Tournament — what comes next?

Thanks to you — our generous sponsors, donors, players, and volunteers — we raised more than $150,000. What comes next is that we’re able to support renovations at Veterans Memorial Lodge, home to 225 of Canada’s veterans and seniors, to create spaces that feel even more like home.

These renovations will help us continue to build environments where every person can experience wellbeing and happiness, and where common areas, bedrooms, and hallways feel as much like home as possible. With your help, we’re building vibrant common areas and spaces where people connect and build friendships. We have begun to renovate Veterans Memorial Lodge by adding new paint, textures, flooring, and window coverings. We’ve rebuilt the coffee shop, improved common spaces in one of our living areas, and and hope to be able to welcome you there soon.

These are spaces that encourage residents to socialize with their family and friends, and with their neighbours, helping to fill the halls once again with conversation and laughter.

These kinds of renovations are not covered by government funding, so your participation in our Annual Charity Golf Tournament makes an enormous difference to the people who live and work at Veterans Memorial Lodge.

Thank you so much! We had a lot of fun this year, and are already planning the 2022 Annual Charity Golf Tournament. We look forward to seeing you there!

Fresh, bright colours and newly renovated areas help Veterans Memorial Lodge feel more like home. On the left is a photograph of the new coffee shop on Main Street, inside the front door. The next two photos show common areas refreshed with bright paint and comfortable seating. And we’re not done yet! Thank you for your support for the Feels Like Home campaign.
