E. Randall Evans

Predeceased by his parents Ernest and Lillian Evans, brother Peter and first wife, Beryl. Lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Helen, sons Christopher (Lisa) and Spencer (Lynn), grandchildren Mitchell, Sarah, and Claire and brother Ian (Glenna), sisters-in-law Jean and Mary, and his loving cat, Mitty.
Rand was born in Montreal, moved to Vancouver when he was eight, where he started the love of his life with a genuine dugout canoe and a sheet from home. He went on to become a world class sailor.
Rand defended his country in the RCAF in the Air Observation Squadron. After the war he graduated from UBC with a commerce degree and joined Maple Leaf Foods, where he worked for 36 years, becoming Chief Internal Auditor, responsible for a multiplicity of offices across the country and the U.S.
On retirement, Rand and Helen moved to Vancouver Island (Sidney) where they could “sail all year”, which they did, exploring all the west coast. They were blessed to become part of Holy Trinity Church where they made many lifelong friends. When not at church, they were further blessed to have many wonderful travels, by land and sea.
In between the travels, Rand used his skills through volunteering as treasurer of many organizations, and as a volunteer driver with the Canadian Cancer Society.
We give thanks for the care he received at Veterans Memorial Lodge, Broadmead, and the compassionate care given by Kay and Taylor.

A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Church North Saanich at 1319 Mills Road on October 17 at 11 AM. A reception will follow in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to – Broadmead Care Society, Beacon Community Services medical drive program, Helping Homeless Cats, or a charity of your choice.
