Beckley Farm Lodge has 65 publicly subsidized units; lounge areas for residents and families to socialize and to enjoy recreational activities; three secured garden areas and one balcony for residents to enjoy the outdoors and a secured environment for residents with dementia on the first floor, which gives access to a safe and secure outdoor garden area.
The services of a hairdresser are available on site and televisions are located in each dining area as well as a large screen TV and entertainment system in the Grand Room.
Resident rooms are designed to accommodate one person. Each room has a two piece ensuite bathroom, an emergency call system, separate heat control and windows that open. All rooms are equipped with ceiling tracks for lifts.
When visiting residents, enter through the Simcoe Street main entrance onto the Second Floor. Visitors must sign in and out at the front entrance area. There is limited parking in the area however there is a 3-minute pick-up/drop off zone in front of the building.
Residents pay a monthly fee that is based on income according to a fee structure set by the British Columbia Ministry of Health. The fee covers accommodation, basic supplies and equipment, and meals. Some services - such as cable television and hairdressing - are provided on a fee-for-service basis.
Most prescribed medications are covered under Pharmacare and are provided at no cost. Residents pay for medications not covered by Pharmacare. Residents are informed about all fees and costs when an offer of admission is made.
