Philosophy

Volunteers play a vital role in making every moment matter for Broadmead Care residents and clients.  We are grateful to the 150 volunteers who share approximately 1200 hours of their time each month assisting staff to maintain an environment that supports retained abilities, celebrates successes, fosters hope, and promotes social involvement.

We hope to engage volunteers who reflect the diversity of our community and want to work with volunteers to make every moment matter in their volunteer experience.

Do you see an existing role that looks like it was made for you?  Do you believe in the work we do and want to join us in creating the role that suits you and Broadmead Care perfectly?

We know how busy people's lives can be, and strive to be as flexibile and accommodating as possible with volunteers' schedules and personal goals.

We also provide opportunities for:

  • Busy families and friends to spend time together in community service close to home (many residents appreciate visits with your children).
  • Young people to gain valuable work experience and develop a lifelong value of volunteerism and community service.
  • Retirees with a lifetime of skills, unique experience and new-found time to share.
  • People of all sorts who share our organizational values and believe they have something to contribute to enrich the lives of others.
