Fundraising Priorities

Donations to the Veterans Memorial  Lodge at Broadmead through Broadmead Care help ensure that equipment, renovations and programs that are only partially funded or not covered at all by government funding can be provided to enhance the lives of the people living here.

Currently we are working on raising much needed funds for our Make Room Campaign in support of renovating veterans’ and seniors’ rooms. The goal is to renovate 229 rooms at a cost of $366,400 ($1,600 per room).

The Veterans Memorial Lodge at Broadmead is over 20 years old and the existing night tables, cabinets and draperies have reached the end of their useful life.  The laminate on the cabinets and night tables is peeling off, creating a shabby appearance.  Cleaning the furniture is very difficult.  The draperies have been washed countless times and are faced and worn.

You can also donate to support residents' participation in the creative arts program or spiritual care or to purchase smaller pieces of medical equipment like Saska poles, mattresses, nebulizers and raised toilet seats ($92,000.)

All donations are eligible for a tax receipt according to Canada Revenue Agency guidelines.  Every donation is very important to help us provide excellent care and each gift is greatly appreciated.
